- In 2009, the 10 Judges of the Yolo Superior Court re-elected Judge Rosenberg to a second two-year term as Presiding Judge of the Court, starting January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2011.
- Presiding Judge Rosenberg also Chairs the "Project Advisory Committee" planning the new Yolo Superior Court Courthouse.
- Judge David Rosenberg was appointed in 2003 as a Judge of Superior Court, State of California, and assigned to the Yolo Superior Court. Judge Rosenberg presides in Department 7. During his tenure, Judge Rosenberg has heard the full panoply of cases which come before the Superior Court including jury trials, preliminary hearings, settlement conferences, felony and misdemeanor criminal matters, civil, family, juvenile dependency and juvenile delinquency, probate, and drug court cases. He also sits as a member of the Appellate Division of the Yolo Superior Court.
- Active in the Judicial Branch, Judge Rosenberg has been appointed by the Judicial Council and by the California Judges Association to numerous committees dealing with criminal and civil law matters. Since 2005, Judge Rosenberg was invited to join the faculty and to teach at California’s prestigious Judicial College.
- Member of the Criminal Law Education Committee of the California Center for Judicial Education and Research (CJER). Member of the Civil Law and Small Claims Advisory Committee to the California Judicial Council (also serving on both the Legislation Subcommittee and the Small Claims and Limited Cases Subcommittee). Both appointments occurred in 2004. Faculty member of the California Judicial College, appointed in 2005, teaching newly appointed California Judges.
- Yolo County Supervisor, 4th District. Elected in 1996 and re-elected in 2000. Served as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in 1997 and again in 2002. Chairman of the Yolo County Economic Development Council and Chairman of the Yolo County Criminal Justice Cabinet. Member of the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District's Board of Directors. Resigned October 9, 2003, due to his appointment to the Bench.
- Director of Community and Intergovernmental Relations, and Director of Operations, Office of the Governor of California. Senior Advisor to the Governor. Member of the Governor's Senior Staff, 2000 - 2003.
- Commissioner, California State Lottery Commission, 1999 - 2003. Selected Chairman of the California State Lottery Commission four years in a row.
- Member of the three-member California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board (formerly known as the Board of Control), 2001 - 2003. Acting as Chairman, 2002 - 2003. Member of the California Commission on State Mandates, 2003.
- Prior public service includes: Three term member of the City Council, City of Davis from 1984 to 1996, including two terms as Mayor of Davis. Chairman of the California Law Revision Commission. Chairman of the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District. Chairman of the District Securities Advisory Commission. Member of the California Council on Criminal Justice. Deputy Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff to Former Governor Jerry Brown.
- State Bar of California, member 1974 - 2003. J.D. (Law) from the University of California, Davis 1974, graduating with honors, Phi Kappa Phi, Law Review, and Order of the Coif; B.S. (Journalism) California Polytechnic State University 1968. Two years active duty as an officer with the U.S. Army 1968-70, serving in Germany.

- Personal: Married for 38 years to Lea Rosenberg (selected Citizen of the Year, Woman of Distinction, and Volunteer of the Year in Davis), a son, a daughter, and a grandson.
